! She will be at our upcoming shop event SATURDAY, NOV 23 11-2PM
along with Beloved One Floral's

Tell us a little about what prompted the creation of Kinn. What would you say is the root of your inspiration for your gorgeous fine jewelry line?
I started Kinn to replace the antique jewelry my parents lost when their home was robbed. In honor of those priceless heirlooms, we design classic pieces at Kinn that stand the test of time. The idea is that after a lifetime of wear, you’ll be able to pass your Kinn jewelry on as an heirloom. With that, we make pieces only in 14k solid gold and with precious stones that we know will last today, tomorrow and 100 years from now.
You run Kinn full-time while maintaining a consulting role for Casetify as Chief Business Officer and you are a new mom, how do you balance it all? Has your method of tackling your day-to-day changed since having your baby?
I'll be honest: the first three months since Kaia was born (she's now four months), I struggled, hard. I was trying to heal, while trying to bond with the baby, while trying to carve out time to work. Thankfully, I had help from family, but it was really hard to predict my day. My method of tackling my day to day has not changed necessarily as I set top 3 things that I want to get done for the day. But I've learned how to flip back and forth between work and non-work related things very quickly, and I'm all about finding efficiency!
What tips or words of wisdom would you offer others who are juggling their career and parenthood?
To slow down and enjoy the journey. Sometimes when you're juggling so many things, you sort of get trapped in the rhythm to "do it all" and forget to enjoy the things that you're doing. It took me awhile but when I'm working, I really try to shut everything out and focus on work, while when I'm with Kaia, I try to absorb every bit of it by being in the moment. Yes, you're extremely exhausted at the end of the day, but you know you gave it 110% into whatever you were doing! Plus, I try to remind myself that the milestones that Kaia is going through only comes once.
Kinn jewelry pieces are made in 14k solid gold, tell us why you chose to maintain this high standard of quality as opposed to other options?
14k gold is a great option for an everyday jewelry as they're strengthened with other alloys. Though it may scratch over time with wear, it wouldn't be as malleable as a 24k gold where it may lose its shape for an everyday jewelry. We chose not to use plated, filled nor vermeil (silver on the inside with gold plated) is because we want the pieces to last for years to come. Non-solid pieces would eventually fade, tarnish, and most of the time, turn your skin green.
What the essential pieces of jewelry you believe every woman should own? What tips do you have to keep gold jewelry in its best condition?
Hoop earrings are like my LBD. It can really make anyone's look--whether that's a classic round hoop earrings, or some of our dressier hoops. Then I'd say a ring that means something to you--whether that's a family heirloom from your grandmother, or a piece that you bought for yourself for hitting a certain milestone in your life. Afterall, most people look at their hands the most, so might as well make it a happy reminder!
The holidays are around the corner, what would you say is the perfect piece to gift? Are there any popular styles in particular you see do well during the holiday season?
The way we see our pieces are like building blocks, and can really be worn by any person and they can style it however they'd like--minimal to bold. Our huggies or the dome rings would be a great option for anyone starting to wear fine jewelry pieces!
